THE RESULTS ARE OUT- FORMER PRESIDENT JOAQUIM CHISSANO FROM MOZAMBIQUE IS THE FIRST MO IBRAHIM AWARD RECIPIENT!

If you have never heard of Dr.Mo Ibrahim , you have got to do som'about it.
He is the 1of the most intelligent African leaders that we are lucky to have, hes the creator of the telecommunication Company-Celtel.

He created an Award called the
"Mo Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership" which honors great African leaders from yesterday and today who brought peace, better economic and social conditions to their subjects.

This prize which is of US$5 million over 10 years and US$200,000 annually(waouhhhh) is the world largest individual prize.

The Board is made of the cream of crop , Nelson Mandela, Koffi Anan who is the chair of the prize committee,Aïcha Bah Diallo, former Minister of Education in Guinea and Special Adviser to the Director-General of UNESCO, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala,Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland, Salim Ahmed Salim, former Prime Minister of Tanzania...so u be the judge of the judges lol...


Anywhoo they honored Mr Joaquin Chissano who was the President of Mozambique from 1986-2005 because he was able to better the economical conditions of his country which is considered be one of the poorest of the world.

Chissano's job was very difficult due to the fact that he took power right after the Mozambican civil war, there were a great lack of infrastructures schools, hospitals,etc..

He is also remembered and respected because he lead a democratic governance in his country, and after his third turn decided to "retire" and allow others to lead as welll....
