FATIMA EL MAGHNAOUI FIGHTIING TO END SEXUAL ABUSE & PHYSICAL VIOLENCE ON WOMEN IN MARROCO

Fatima receiving her well deserved Khimssa Award

The activist Fatima E.M

I have 2 recognise that I wasn't aware that physical violence was that prominent in Marocco... I know that as of women from diverse backgrounds we all face it...but I just didn't realise to what extent women in that part of the world still didn't enjoy our basic rights as women...

Through my research I discovered how this issue was of primordial importance in the Muslim country of Marocco....(which I'm proud 2 be )

Thank God for people like Fatima El Maghnaoui who is the director and the public figure for the nom profit organisation Ennaja which provides shelter and counseling to abused women. Many women from Marocco claim to being abused physically by their husbands and are for the most part not protected by the law-therefore they tend to keep it to themselves, or to endure their suffering in silence.

Fatima El Maghnaoui & her organisation had the amazing idea to create a toll free number called "numero vert" for women in need to talk, to express their sorrow or their fears...

That was def' a first in Marocco a very tradional country where "people keep their business to themselves"...

This month Fatima E.M was being saluted in her country for her groundbreaking efforts, her ardour, and tenacity ....she received a Khimssa Award.

There's still a lot of work to do, but that's a great step toward making women understand that

IT'S NOT OK FOR THEM TO SUFFER IN SILENCE
THEY HAVE A VOICE....

Djaa les Marocaines sont fierce aussi:)
Eyee Wayee:)
