You know how some people tell you , I wasn't planning on being a Star 1 day;it just happened..... That could be the story of the sculptural Rokaya Niang. After the success of this movie, she was then offered the lead in another piece who I believe will become a classic in the years to come "Madame Brouette" by the contrevorsial director Moussa Sene Absa.
I have to give it her on the movie, since she was only given 1 short 1 week to prepare herself for that role. From that movie, she remenbers the sisterhood & brotherhood that all the actors shared on set, (they actually are still in touch).
She loves being an actress but wishes that there were more African movies made on a consistant basis. Did you know that in Dakar there are not enough movie theaters(damn shame people)
She's featured in the last movie by Moussa S. Absa "Teranga Blues" that I cannot wait 2 see, cannot..w/Elhadji Man of the Rap group DARA J....(the fine 1 w/the dreads)
Djaa Senegalese Women are simply fierce:)
Eyee Wayee:)
