Ethiopia in the hizzySileshi has a love/hate relationship with the name Ethiopia bestowed on him. He accepts it as a sign of affection but he also wants to make it known that he also can dominate races outside of Ethiopia.
Born in 1983 in the city of Sheno. At a young age just like most kids living in his city , his days centered around going to school and helping his parents after work w/ their butter business.
Inspired by the former King Haile Gebrselassie , he knew early on during his youth that he wanted to be a professional athlete while his parents wanted him to pursue his studies full time.
Finally he won and moved to Adis Abeba where his loneliness became his sole companion.
But as any "lion", he had a passion for life, he dedicated himself to running and went on to win couples of medals such as the 2005 World championship, the 2004 Olympic Games -both sivler medals...and a lot more...
He recognises having sometimes trouble adapting to high level races but sees more for himself in the future..well we'll be watching boo!!
