WHEN THEY ASK YOU ABOUT STRONG AFRICAN WOMEN, TELL THEM ABOUT SOMALI ASHA HAGI ELGI AMIN!

Mrs Asha Hagi Elgi Amin is a phenomenal woman, when in Somali women from the 5 tradional clans were exluded from government decisions she created the
6th clan (please view the video clip at the bottom) where women united and put aside for their betterment their clans differences..This resulted in the election of 22 women within the Federal Parliament.(quota is set for 25 )

Asha despite death treats , negative critizism in the press stay focused on Somali women and children issues , founding the non profit organization
"Save Somali Women and Children" a non profit organization that focuses on issues of violence, poverty, women genital mutulation .

She personally fund projects that aim to empower women that represent
52% of the population , isn't that crazy how the percentage of women is higher than men, but that education , human rights wise in the 21st century we still have 2 fight so much...

She's been of great influence during the peace process in Somali, she was nominated in 2005 for 1 Nobel Prize ..1 beautiful calm and strong African women to know..
