Interesting brotha, he was born to a courageous father, 1 Ugandan surgeon in the UK who decided when Omar was just 3 years old to go back to Uganda 2 fight Idi Amin's regime.
As he was flying to Uganda, the plane he was in crashed mysteriously**.
Anywhoo as any African single mummy , Omar's mum insisted on a great academic education for the young Omar who became 1 lawyer in some ways despite himslef..because you see the truth is that he was already in love w/words,sonets...
His lyrical heroes range from Mos Def to Ernest Hemingway.
He fought hard but had 2 admit to himself that he had 2 pursue his own dreams, break the news to his mum, break free from the conservative world of law, write more spoken poetry w/his group PIP and 1 book on football "A cultured left foot"

..Oh I feel it's important that I mention that Mr Musa has won the Junior Bridport Prize for fiction in 1994, and the 1 for poetry in 1995..pas petite affaire deee..the boy is talented period:)
