Onejiru was born in Kenya before moving to Germany with her family as a young'un. There, as an "AfroGerman" she didn't forget her culture rather
studies part of it as as student majoring in African Studies , she's also a pretty big "musical activist"if I can use that word, lending her voice and talent to several projects of popular German artists such as Patri
ce, she's also worked with Joy Denalane , Noah Sow and a bunch of other talented Afrogerman artists...
What I like about Onejiru is that through her music she teaches , informs the minds abt social issues that people may not be aware abt,for example she touches upon the issue of the false promises given by the G8...interesting I thought.
Her latest album is called "Prophets of Profits", she sings in English, Kiswahili and German, she's known to be a pretty good artist live who's not afraid to let her artistry out.....interesting young lady:)
Here's her webbie:
