My fav' Piece!

Interesting Piece!
Veil!

Mmm??

It was so tough finding out more info behind the wonderful work of the Tunisian sculptor and painter Meriem Bouderbala. ...It was easier finding her work, than info about who she is as 1 woman...

But then again maybe that is who she is...maybe the truth about her resides in her work...ah eureka...lol!!

Anywhoo se was born 47 years ago of Tunisian parents..she studied at an Ecole des Beaux Arts in France and furthered her studies in London.... Of course being a woman in the Art Industry in an Islamic country qualifies her to being reknown and well respected by Art lovers...She was feautured in the early 2000's @ the Unesco for her outstanding work during a celebration of Tunisian Women...

Her themes centered around, water, fluidness of the tradional veil, wind, freedom, pain, dream, ....

She uses sand, canvas, gold powder, paint....she's very interesting....To me , her work is both accesible and distant......

Djaa Tunisian Women are Fierce:)
Eyee Wayee:)
