If you've never heard of Youssou N'dour one of the most beautiful voices out of Africa , you may have heard about the clothing line Benetton . Well these two separate entities put their strenght together in order to better the future of people in Senegal, people who may have projects, desires to help their families out , they may not have the financial means or the education but they have brilliant ideas and the will to get there...
That's where Birima comes in, Youssou Ndour a proud Senegalese singer who's been on the largest and most exciting music scenes believes in the future of his country and is known to be both a savy businessman and a philantrophist. Under this microcredit project all are welcome, struggling artists, businessmen, entrepreneurs,ect... and the big deal with AFRICA WORKS is that it grants loans for a higher amount of time for instance I read in Birima.org that one of their goals is to grant
500 loans for 25/50 Millions CFA over a period of 5 years... Some of the artists who join force with You and Benetton are Patti Smith, Francesco Renga,Simphiwe Dana (one of my fav artists) ectt.....
