Je vous dits que nous sommes graww..(we are the shiznitt..lol)
Welcome in the ICE World of Miss Sandra Berete,(senegalo/guadoulep') princess who
owns her own ice empire "Ode Saint Lys" since 1998.
After an internship (stage) at the prestigious studio
Bernon-Gomez, she decided to be bold and go there where people don't expect us.
What I found interesting in the things that she said, is that AFRICAN WOMEN who have
the buying power don't buy from her even though she sells great quality gems...
Come on people support a sista..nak:) (for those who can..lol)

MARCUS SAMUELSON THE ETHIOPIAN CHEF
Ladies ...ladies brace yourselves...cos we found a real Gentleman in this 1..
I'm calling the youngest chef in American History 2 have ever received 2 , 3***ratings from
the New York Times.
He's also the proud co-owner of one of the fanciest restos of Manhattan
Newyork "Aquavit"...
He worked very hard to get 2 this level of success..and suffered his share of tragedies...
When he was younger, back in Ethiopia his parents died of turbecolosis....he then went to
Scandinavia where he learned the art of cooking...moved to Ny and the rest is history.
I wanted to feature him on my blog cos he's 1 of the most succesful black chefs in America
and also he just wrote a culinary book on the
Art of African cooking..represent..represent!!
And check this out , he also is donating some of the profit to the UNICEF
Petit bi daffa graw (this boy is off the hoock)

LIRE/LOCAL....READ....OUR OWN DAMN WRITTERS
I found this really good artice in AM Afrique Magazine about the fact that we as African Consumer
power
don't invest much in our own writters..or publishers..
We tend to read foreign litterature ..I have to agree on that statement and say that I'm 1 of
those people..being that i live abroad I guess it's much easier to find American or European
writters...
Anywhoo..I think there's a need for better marketting .. a need to maybe repackage the
books, or have them adverstised a bit more eiter at schools, coffee shops, tv, movies...
whatever..there's def' a need for it...What y'all think?
Version Frenchie
Je pense qu'il faudrai peut etre faire 1 meilleure campagne /marketing sur les auteurs Africains
contemporains..de maniere a inciter la jeunesse a lire un peu plus...
Vos opinions??
IL N'YA PAS QUE LE COUPE DECALLER DANS LA VIE
Ivory Coast talent is not only limited to dancing , or playing soccer, design
There are also excellent and interesting writters such as Tanella Boni a professor of
philosophy in Abidjan.
She writtes poems, short stories, children stories (poemes, des nouvelles,
ect..)
In this book "Les Negres n'iront jamais au Paradis"
(Black People will never enter Paradise),
she talks about the conflict between the western world and the forgotten continent
of Africa (le conflit entre l'Est et l'Ouest)
I'm not quite sure if the book has been translated in English yet..but would be interesting to
read!!!
KARIMA ADEBIBE..LA JOLIE MAROCAINE
Karima repping for her native country MOROCCO (MAROC) has been chosen to be the face of the cyber heroine Lara Croft .
Thus is a huge compliment since the last person to play the character on screen was
Angelina Jolie, it doesn't get better hun..:)
She will be promoting the game all throughout the year..in Europe, America..
Even though she grew up for the most part in England and considers herself
a London chick.....history will remenber her as a North African chick regardless...:)

Going on a different direction this time...
Let me introduce to the talent of Angele Essamba, une photographe camerounaise of

The One Campaign
Bono never ceases to amaze me in his dedication towards helping our continent..:)
The "One Campaign"is a non profit movement geared toward helping raise awareness towards poverty in Africa as well as the spread of Aids.
I was suprised to learn that they didn't accept donations but are trying to get Americans more active into writting to their government or buying merchandise such as
(wristbands and shirts..ect...)
Really cool and hip...w/signatories cool as A.Keys, Jamie Fox, Will Smith,
Penelope C..ect..real cool initiative.
Ayaan Harsi Ali
Good news for the Somalian Activist and Dutch politician..!!
She's worldy known for her criticism of certain aspects of Islam (don't know how i feel about that yet... cos I don't know yet exactly what she's criticising ) ..
Anywhoo she was facing trouble in the Netherlands for pubicaly admitting that she made some false statements to get her Dutch nationality...
After a long period of tension w/the government ... Ayaan was finally granted her citizenship...
Wanna know more about her life?!!:
