CHUT LISTEN UP-SHE'S 15 YEARS OLD, A FORMER ANGOLAN ILEGAL IMMIGRANT , HER NAME IS LORIANE K......

Good read for a little sister, cousin, niece

Pic courtesy of Marie Claire
Left pic courtesy of Nicolas R.

Just 15 years old and so much to share, as Africans we can either relate to her story or know someone in our circles who can relate to the troubles this young girl and her family shared...

Her father was an oponent of the political regime and had to flee with his family to France. There with 3 kids and a wife started the life of "sans papiers"

Loriane was 6 years old when she arrived to France and as kids do she adapted quickly to her new life speaking French but understanding quickly that she couldn't live as freely as the other kids....

It's no secret that France's immigration policies are very hard on immigrants, there our brothers and sisters can't freely go on the streets without proof of residency, they are asked on the regular by the police to show their "paps"

Loriane shares her frustration, how she felt during those years, the povery she lived it ect...
Today her family and her have the permit to stay in France for a year, hoping that with this courageous book they are given the right to permanently stay in France..
but I'm left with couple questions: How did she get the deal? did she come up on her own with the idea of getting published? bref I would like to know more about Loriane
If anyone knows please share.....

Djaa our little sisters from Angola are doin their thang)

BABELA DESIGN

Babela elle meme

Boheme

lovely piece

My favorite

Cute and easy to wear

Love the bretelles

I can't just label Babela only as designer because this Angolan -Zairoise sista does so much, she designs, she draws, she's a serious MC, a model ect...you get the picture, she's just full of ressources...
Her journey has been and is still very interesting , she was fortunate to grab the right opportunities that presented themselves to her..
Her bio is quite diverse from working as the editor of a local french publication to being the coordinator of a dance studio, working as a model ect.....

She describes her clothe as 60's inspired, feminine, and multicultural.

On top of the couture line, she also designs a sportswear line ...wishing her great success!!

HE SAID HE WOULD AND HE DID IT, HIS NAME IS BARACK OBAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

It's past 5 AM here in Dakar Senegal but I just didn't wanna miss on this
historical moment which should touch all of our lives....
American citizens or not. This is the first time in the history of a country where black people have been discriminated for so long,
their pride walked on ,
their confidence in themselves and ourselves tried countless of times, this is one of the first time that African Americans and the rest of the world can actually truly say AMERICA LAND OF THE FREE...

I sat in my living room wondering if he would be able to not let this momentum moment not own him rather him owning this moment...and I was proud ...we were all proud
Never has this man look so beautiful in my eyes than tonight, through his grace, I can tell that he's not in this for the fame rather because He trully believes in his mission
His speech resonated and matched the intensity of his gaze, tomorrow is another day and he knows it'll not be easy but everything in him screamed Bring it on..
.we will work as as one....

Man I tell you, God chooses the right persons for the right mission at the right time...this shows people that we people of ebene chococal color can be taken seriously as World leaders, that one of the most powerful nations can say we believe in our president white or black... The image Im left is actually the one that's illustrating the article, after both VP and President's families came on stage, Obama stayed to say goodbye ...while he did that Michelle waited..that moment made me cry..because she was throughout this campaign the symbol of a real wife, a real woman, who stood by her man, knew when to be there for him, knew to wait in his shadow, knew how to be proud to be a beautiful educated black woman who's not afraid of her own strength..I Could go on... These 2 showed the world that nice people don't always finish last...:) I'm inspired... This victory is the world's victory yours, mine, his grandma in Hawai, his grandma in Kenya, people in poor parts of the world who have ideals , great ideas for their countries... Rise my people, we can do it:) Eyeee Wayee:)
