FLY KENYAN REGGAE ARTIST BASED IN GERMANY, MISS ONEJIRU!

I really like how this pic brings out her features

Looking beautiful!
Another pic I really like of her!

Onejiru was born in Kenya before moving to Germany with her family as a young'un. There, as an "AfroGerman" she didn't forget her culture rather
studies part of it as as student majoring in African Studies , she's also a pretty big "musical activist"if I can use that word, lending her voice and talent to several projects of popular German artists such as Patrice, she's also worked with Joy Denalane , Noah Sow and a bunch of other talented Afrogerman artists...
What I like about Onejiru is that through her music she teaches , informs the minds abt social issues that people may not be aware abt,for example she touches upon the issue of the false promises given by the G8...interesting I thought.
Her latest album is called "Prophets of Profits", she sings in English, Kiswahili and German, she's known to be a pretty good artist live who's not afraid to let her artistry out.....interesting young lady:)

LA MAISON DU KARITE BY THE WOMEN OF THE RURAL COMMUNITY OF SIBY ,MALI!

I saw the soaps @ the National Museum of Mali (by the way great museum) so of course the curious self that I am wanted to find out more abt la Maison du Karite.

It's a project sponsored by the COOPROKASI , a non profit organization that helps around 800 women through their production of shea butter.

On the site, I see that the common goal of these brave women is to increase

their individual profit through their collective efforts, don't we say that it takes an entire village to raise a child.

I know we all think shea butter is shea butter, but no the women of Siby are very clear about this, SIBY Shea Butter is the best , it nourishes ans softens your skin (sounds good to me) you could also use it for cooking purposes, as sunscreen protection and againt burns...

Of course wanted to know who was helping these women, the Canadian Embassy , the FEM/PNUD among other Canadian programs.

La Maison du Karite offers soaps (karite/cucumber, karite/neem,karite/green clay ect...) body creams and body butter...man gotta say ladies shea butter is the bomb no matter what else we use, we all need a bit of this old school African remedy....

GABONESE GOSPEL & POP SINGER,FABIENNE DELLA MONIQUA!

Travelling through the world of Fabienne is quite a pleasant trip, she seems such like a nice lady who loves what she does. Very classic in her style with her long hair, her suits and very classic in her singing style as well. Her voice is without great effort it seems very powerful no wonder why she enjoys the Aretha Franklin, the Ella F ect....At the base she was gospel trained ..hello!! It's a known fact that the greatest singers received gospel training, cool that in this case it's an African sista. She evolves in the music industry in France mainly singing gospel with the Gospel Sister Group and sometimes doing gigs on her own..

Also if you've seen by chance the Michelin commercial with the little kids, the melodious voice u hear at the end, chuttt don't tell anybody it's Fabienne's..

I love that she sings in French, English and her own dialect actually I enjoyed the most, her Gabonese song
"Mechinga"

You can see her perform here:

UPCOMING UGANDAN SINGING POWER HOUSE , TSHILA!

Tshila reppin for Uganda:)

The other side of Tshila!

I'm tempted to call her Queen Tshila, with the way she carries herself, her coquin yet proud smile, she has that "femme enfant", "femme soul soldier" vibe about her , with her round cheeks and her cutesy self...

She's a spoken artist,an African hip hop queen, an African reggae carrier of peace messages while writing I'm listening to her song " CA SUFFIT" (it's enough in french) curious to see if this East African singer was going to sing her message in French positively surprised with her cute accent I got her, it's enough with all these injustices...aight Tshila.

She sings in her dialect Luganda, english ... her mum is Ugandan and her dad is Tshiluba okay thus the french connection I get it now....
She studied software engineering and got her degree in 05 before moving back to Uganda......
Her first album is called "Sipping from the Nile"....

Here's her video "Nambozoo":

Here she is live on concert:

FARIDA B, HAIR PRODUCTS BY A NORTH AFRICAN SISTA FARIDA B!

I'm always curious and excited when I see an African sista applying an universal concept ...so after her obtention of a degree from one of the best professional hair school, Farida went on to work in what we would call " high end hair salons" ,seeing the lack of professional help for women with curly hair , she decided to open her hair salon in one of our fav' areas in Paris : Chatelet..

I guess there's 1 notion floating around that it's easy to take care of curly hair , trust us nappy sistas can say hell to the no lol, so with a team of experts Farida came up the perfect products to strengthen our hair under the name Hydrasublim so of course there's the conditioner, the shampoe,a mask for which I think she received an award, a creme for those of you who use a lot of heat which prevents your hair from breaking, and a daily serum, matter of fact she says on her site that if there's one daily action she would recomend it would be to use the serum..don' t know y'all but I'm curious about this line....
She explained on her site that people think that people with naturally curly have it Also important to say that the products are made of extracts of oil Mongongo & Karanja&Carthame ...very nourishing combination ......

Her webbie is quite interractive with advices, quizzes ...some cool stuff!
You can find her line at Casino, Carrefour, Lecrec, Monoprix....

Anyways all is not in vain? after 3 years spent doing editorial work for black frenchie mags, local fashion shows in Paris, Irya has finally been signed to Boss Models in NY where she's trying to set up a successful career as an international model...
